The Barcelona international airport, which deals with flights travelling to the capital of Catalonia, is located at the South East of Barcelona in the Prat de Llobregat seaside town.

Only 12 km away from Barcelona centre, the airport of Barcelona, officially known as "Barcelona-El Prat" since June 2011, is composed of two terminals 1, and 2 that share internal and international flights.

BARCELONA AIRPORT - TERMINAL 1 (T1)

Scattered on an area of 540.000 square metres, the Barcelona airport terminal 1 manages 70 % of the Catalonia capital air-traffic.

Developed by the famous architect Ricardo Bofill, the new terminal 1 was inaugurated in June 2009, is located about 4 Km from the terminal 2.

Whith no less than 101 Boarding gates, 166 check-in points, 20 000 m2 for the commercial areas as well as 12 000 parking spaces, distributed over its four levels, the terminal 1 of the Barcelona airport, (Mediterranean airport reference), is designed to manage an annual movement equivalent to 55 million travellers.

The embarkations take place at the level of the doors A, B, C, D and E according to your destination.

Barcelona airport shuttle between terminals

If you're not in the right terminal, you have the choice between taxi and shuttle.
The Barcelona airport shuttle is free and offers the travel between the various airport terminals, seven days a week, every 5 minutes approximately.
With the shuttle, green coloured and easy to locate, allow about 30 minutes between the terminal 1 and 2 with waiting time.

BARCELONA AIRPORT - TERMINAL 2 (T2)

In order to be able to face the Barcelona Olympic Games air-traffic in 1992, the airport of Barcelona has had many extension work (also directed by the architect Ricardo Bofill), to make place tor the terminals A and C.

Result of the commissioning of the new terminal (T1), the old terminals A, B and C that formed the airport of Barcelona are now known as T2a, T2b and T2c and constitute the Barcelona El Prat terminal 2.

Currently, the Terminal 2 is home to low cost companies such as Easyjet, Germanwings, Luxair, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Belavia or Blue Air, as well as many local flights.

Arrivals and check-in are located on the ground floor, controls and bordings on the first floor of this terminal
